How to contact me: Join me at my blog on LiveJournal, or look me up on Facebook. I blog about my books and the people, places and crimes of fashion that inspire them, and of course about myself and what I'm up to. Readers are also always welcome to email me at laceysmithsonian@yahoo.com.
2011 Events and Appearances
Through January 5 Enter my drawing to win an Advance Reader's Copy (ARC) of Shot Through Velvet. An ARC is a bound uncorrected galley or proof of the book, marked NOT FOR SALE, and printed before the official publication date. It's the complete text, but without the cover art and any final corrections, so an ARC often contains a few typos and printer's errors. Most ARCs are sent to book reviewers and other publishing world insiders, but I have a few copies I want to share with my readers. Just send me an email at laceysmithsonian@yahoo.com not later than midnight, January 5, with "Shot Through Velvet Drawing" in the subject line and your current mailing address. On January 6, I'll draw three winners' names out of a hat (a vintage blue velvet hat, I promise) and I'll send all three winners signed ARCs. (I'll cover the postage.) Publishers Weekly gave Shot Through Velvet a starred review calling it "first-rate," and I want to give some of you a chance to read it before it even hits booksellers' shelves.
February 1 Official publication date of my new mystery Shot Through Velvet.
March (date TBA) I'll be part of the "Mystery at Noon" Series at the Library of Congress. Details TBA.
March 16-20 I'll be on the "CrimeWave" panel at the Virginia Festival of the Book, Charlottesville VA. Details TBA.
April 29 - May 1 I'll be at Malice Domestic, the annual convention which honors the "traditional" mystery, this year at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda MD. Details TBA.
